Becoming a Little Boy

Each day Jake seems more and more like a little boy and less and less like a baby. He's learning new words all the time. I think no (which sounds more like na to me) is quickly becoming his favorite word. I think his second favorite word is dog. We went for a walk this morning before lunch and saw 2 dogs. He actually went up and touched them which is new - last time we saw a dog he got scared when we got close.

He's very into testing his boundaries. His favorite game is to climb on the couch and then try to stand up on it. He knows he's not allowed to stand up so he does it and then smiles at me to see what I'll do. Unfortuntely it's not what he wants because he gets taken off the couch and then there are tears (which is never fun).

We went for a haircut last weekend and he absolutely hated it. It was the worst one so far - he got upset and cried the whole time. I even had them turn on Barney but it didn't help poor thing. I'm hoping it will get better.
